I'm Julie, and my mother was a unique, creative artist and professor of fine art. Some of my first memories are of time spent with a brush in my hand painting alongside her in her studio. Her passion for creating beautiful pieces passed easily to me. Over the years I've collected and curated her work. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2006 and I'm finally sharing her work. The pieces I've chosen to part with are original acrylics on canvas, some framed and some unframed. Her life drawings are exceptional as are the mid-century abstract figures she sketched. These works are being offered as digital downloads and occasionally an unframed original piece. However, these are only a small piece of what I offer...

My own artwork is a wonderfully colorful collaboration of landscapes or still life combined with pieces of my mother's work. These pieces are collaged in and over acrylic or encaustic wax creating unique color and texture. Years before she passed away Mom began tearing up her older work to use in collage, creating large abstract work that she sold locally in West Michigan and across the country. With a very grateful heart, I am following in her footsteps by combining pieces of her work in my own to create unique abstract work. These pieces represent the combined passion that she passed along to me as well as my own vision and creative eye. I find that working with her art, while incorporating it into my own, takes me back to the side-by-side experience we shared years ago. My heart is full.
